When your Medicare coverage doesn’t extend to a certain situation then your Medigap coverage can be seen as a Godsend. Paying a monthly premium to avoid the high costs of emergency hospital visits is definitely worth every penny paid. If there are good reasons, however, to switch from one Medigap policy to another they are probably listed below:
- Benefits that you are paying for with your Medigap policy are not necessary to you in any way. If you are paying for coverage that doesn’t apply to your situation then you are wasting your money. Cover the things that are necessary and important to you and simply leave out the rest, they aren’t worth it.
- In your senior years the medical charges will start to stack up and this is the real reason that most people have Medicare to begin with. As you get older you will need more coverage for more medical conditions and this is why Medigap coverage is always a good idea. If you guarantee that your health is your top priority then you need to make sure you have what you need.
