For people who don’t have much to spend on their premiums with their Medicare supplement insurance there is the option of Humana’s Plan K. With this option there are percentages of your coverage paid for when you need it instead of paying all of your costs, but there is an out-of-pocket limit if you are seriously injured or ill. Once this cap is reached you will be covered at 100% of your Medical expenses, here are the other highlights of this plan:
- 100% coverage for Part A hospitalization coinsurance plus coverage for 365 days after Medicare benefits end.
- 50% Hospice out-of-pocket cost sharing for when the services of hospice are needed.
- 50% of Medicare-eligible expenses for the first three pints of blood, instead of the basic benefit with most policies of simply having this covered.
- 50% Part B coinsurance, except for preventive care services, which are covered 100%.
- 50% coverage for Skilled Nursing Facility coinsurance if the services are needed.
- 50% coverage for your Medicare Part A deductibles, meaning you have less to pay than with Medicare, but still a decent amount to come up with on your own.
- $4,620 out-of-pocket annual limit (The out-of-pocket annual limit will increase each year for inflation), meaning after you spend this amount everything is covered at 100%.
