Many of the Medicare Supplement Insurance plans are similar in their approach and you may find that Humana’s Plan K and Plan L are very similar plans. What is different are the items that are listed below that are part of the Medigap Plan L that is offered by Humana Insurance. Like any other insurance coverage, not everything is listed but many options that you have to be covered are listed below.
- 100% coverage for Part A hospitalization coinsurance, plus coverage for 365 days after Medicare benefits end for your unexpected (and expected) hospital visits.
- 75% Hospice out-of-pocket cost sharing, which is obviously in excess of the Plan K coverage.
- 75% of Medicare-eligible expenses for the first three pints of blood, more than Plan K but still less than the basic benefits with most supplement insurance plans.
- 75% Part B coinsurance, except for preventive care services, which are covered 100%.
- 75% coverage for Skilled Nursing Facility coinsurance for the situations that you need it but are unable to cover the full cost on your own.
- 75% coverage for your Medicare Part A deductibles, which can be a life saver in the wallet.
- $2,310 out-of-pocket annual limit, much less than Plan K, but still a substantial amount to come up with on your own in addition to your premiums that you periodically pay.
