Medicare and Medigap (Medicare Supplement Insurance) are constantly on the path to improving the services and processes that are offered to Medicare and Medigap subscribers. This is important to do to keep people informed about the processes that are available and what they must do to stay insured. Medigap Modernization is the name for the changes that occurred to Medigap on June 1st of 2010 to improve the overall situation.
What Medigap subscribers should know as of now is that you are under no obligation to make any changes to your policy if you liked what you had. Other plans can stay together as long as they are uninterrupted and this should not be difficult to continue to do. Changing policies can sometimes cause very unnecessary stress that you should monitor in order to survive and knowing that you don’t have to change could be a big relief.
One of the most important things to know about Medigap coverage is that there is not a best coverage available to everyone. What works best for you may not be what is best for everyone else and vice versa so it is important that you do your own homework and discover the right policy for you.
