To be able to take advantage of certain benefits with insurance companies it is sometimes required that you live in a certain area. One type of coverage that is like this is Medicare SELECT and you should be aware of what you have to do to keep your coverage valid. You will have a few options to keep your Medicare SELECT coverage as you move out of the area you are in.
1. Purchasing a standardized Medigap policy is possible if the benefits are equal to or less than your Medicare SELECT policy. This could help you to avoid any interruptions, regardless of if it is truly ideal or not. You won’t have to answer any questions to change if you have already had your Medicare SELECT policy for six months or more.
2. Most states that sell Medigap Plan A, B, C, F, K, or L have to give you a guaranteed issue right to buy. This may not be the perfect option for you but it is an option available for your situation. What you would have to do is some research to see which one is better for you and then make a decision.
