You may well know that from time to time there are good reasons to switch your Medigap policy. It may not be necessary to get more coverage, but it also may not be necessary to keep the same coverage and either way this will cause you to re-evaluate things. Two more situations may make it necessary to consider switching from one Medigap policy to another.
1. You are unhappy with the insurance company that facilitates your Medigap policy, not necessarily the plan that you chose. Insurance companies are the subjects of many complaints and this is perfectly common. It is possible that better service doesn’t exist and you should remember this when this is your reason to want to change. Changing policies can be a hassle and should be avoided if possible to do so.
2. Money could be another very real issue for people that may be paying too much for their Medigap policy. Saving a few dollars each month is a very common and acceptable reason for wanting to switch from one Medicare policy to another. Before cancelling any Medigap policies just make sure your new policy will have everything you need.
