Through Medicare there are private companies that sell Medicare Supplement Insurance plans to give you the opportunity to get the coverage you need. One such plan that is very popular is the AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance plan that is offered to many, many customers. AARP has some conditions that must be met in order for you to be covered under a pre-existing condition and they are discussed below.
1. Individuals who are replacing prior creditable coverage within 63 days after termination, or
2. Individuals who are turning age 65 and whose application formis received within six (6) months after they turn 65 AND are enrolled inMedicare Part B, OR
3. Individuals who are “Eligible Persons” entitled to Guaranteed Acceptance, or
4. Individuals who have been covered under other health insurance coverage within the last 63 days and have enrolled inMedicare Part B within the last 6months.
AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance is not the only plan that can be purchased if you need coverage in addition to your existing Medicare coverage. Anything that is needed that you don’t see with AARP needs to be discussed with another potential insurer that could meet your needs and satisfy your demands.
