Aetna offers several different options for people that are looking for coverage that is in addition to your normal Medicare Part A or B plan. While there are some options that you wouldn’t typically have in your Medicare plan, you must remember that with this you still have to continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium. Here are some of the features of the Aetna Medicare Plan (PPO):
?You are NOT required to select a primary care physician (PCP), so you do have a wider selection of hospitals and doctors to choose from. However, by choosing a PCP in the Aetna network, you can lower your cost sharing which means that you get to keep more of your money.
?You can go directly to a doctor in the Aetna network without having any worries involved. Your health care is coordinated through a network of health care providers, meaning that the cost you have to supply is reduced.
?You have coverage for any licensed doctor or hospital that is eligible for payment from Original Medicare outside the Aetna network for a higher copay or coinsurance. Meaning if Medicare believes they are ok, so does Aetna and their PPO plan.
