Those people who have altered their Medicare coverage for 2008 should not have a problem with their benifits according to the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).
Throughout the fall open enrollment season care has been taken to see that beneficiaries compare and prepare plan choices and make the correct decision.
The CMS has taken care to see that accurate enrollment information in 2008 is delivered to pharmacies. Procedures have been improved to this end. There have also been better processing requirements this year.
Great care has been taken to ensure that LIS eligible beneficiaries are given a smooth transition. People reassigned to a new plan and those qualifying for extra help have been mailed blue reassignment letters. Tan letters have also been sent to eligible LIS beneficiaries. They can recieve personalized assistance at the SCHIP office.
When visiting the pharmacy, Medicare beneficiaries must bring their red, white and blue Medicare card, a photo ID and the new drug plan membership card. In addition carry the enrollment acknowledgement, new drug plan name and confirmation letter. These precautions must be taken although no complications are expected.
