Secure Horizons PacifiCare supplementary Medicare or Medigap insurance, is a policy designed to leave seniors with the comprehensive health coverage that they need. Medicare alone will not provide full coverage, rather there will be gaps in service that will require you to pay, and these gaps in service can—depending on the circumstances—add up to a lot in extra payments for people without comprehensive insurance.
The PacifiCare Medicare supplement is a large nationwide plan, with a current membership of about 1 million people. Policy holders will be able to visit any doctor or hospital currently enrolled in the Medicare providers list, and will receive additional benefits on products and services such as prescription medications and over-the-counter medications, vision and hearing related doctors visits and necessary medical equipment (eyeglasses and hearing aids) and a wide range of alternative medical treatments such as chiropractic and acupuncture services.
Monthly policy’s vary in priced based on the plan of choice, the current health and behaviors of the subscriber (i.e. Tobacco use or no tobacco use), and the location of residence, with larger urban centers generally costing more than smaller more rural locations.
The Secure Horizon’s Medicare Supplement plan emphasizes user flexibility, and subscribers are able to decide which of the huge number of Medicare authorized doctors or hospitals they are most comfortable with. The policy aims to greatly reduce the expenses that are left by use of Medicare on its own, and provide seniors with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their medical needs will be provided for.
Users love Secure Horizon’s PacifiCare for its ease of use, describing the program as one stop shopping for all your medical needs. Additional coverage can be purchased by opting into Secure Horizon’s Drug plan D. These Plan D options offer seniors the flexibility to choose the prescription plan that best suites their needs, and gives them peace of mind knowing that their medication expenses will be taken care of in the event of serious illness or disease. Even healthy seniors should be thinking of the future and the possibility of burdensome drug expenses as they chart their Medicare supplementary decisions.
Secure Horizon’s PacifiCare subscribers are getting the flexibility they love to visit any doctor or hospital that they like out of a huge number of available providers.

What does the Gordian group have to do with Secure Horizons insurance
Does Secure Horizons Medicare supplemental insurance cover all 50 states?
We have SecureHorizons until April 1, and then we will be going back to Medicare Part A & B and an AARP traditional supplement.
A year ago Feb. my husband was diagnosed with small cell cancer. We were referred by our pcp to a general surgeon to determine what could be done. These 2 doctors were in the “gordian” plan which is what we had at the time.We didn’t know that, and that there are different plans. The general surgeon referred us to an oncologist who was in the “direct” plan and when we went to see him we were told he could not treat my husband because we were not in the correct plan; but if we changed our pcp he would. So because it was important for my husband to start treament immediately, we changed. He had a mass the size of a football in his abdomin. I had to make many calls to SecureHorizons about waiving the 2 month waiting period, so the port inplantation and first series of chemos would be covered and only after I contacted AARP did something get resolved. If we had been referred to the correct cancer center “gordian” we would not have had to switch.
For all the treatment he received thru the year our out of pocket has totalled $6200.
In January ‘09 a new cancer was found at the base of his larnyx and he is going for treatment for that. Before he could start treatment his radiologist said he should have all of his teeth pulled (they were not in the best shape) as the radiation is really hard on salivary glands, etc. in the mouth and either get implants or dentures. We had hoped this would be covered under the medical portion of SecureHorizons, but it wasn’t. We have the dental portion of SecureHorizons and called to find out where he should go for this procedure. They referred us to Monarch dental and when we called them they told us our plan code wasn’t accepted by them, so,again because it was important to get treatment started asap, we went to the dentist we’ve been going to for regular checkups and cleanings and had him do the extractions and dentures. This cost us $7318, that includes a discount from the dentist, otherwise it would have cost us $7800. Of this SecureHorizons paid $1000. So for my husbands catastrophic illness we have spend out of pocket over $12,000; and we’re not done yet, I know we will be billed approximately $2000 more for the treatment he has had since the 1st of the year for the new cancer with 4 more weeks to go. We are running out of money.
To make a long story short, I was told by the cancer center we go to that if my husband had been enrolled in Medicare part A & B with a traditional supplement, he would not have had to pay what we’ve ended up paying, his monthly premium would have cost us approximately $200 and his treatments would have been covered and the teeth as major medical, and we would not be out as much money as we now are.
That is why we are going back to Medicare A & B and the AARP Plan F supplement which is the only one he qualifies for now.
I guess the MA plans are good if you never have anything catastrophic happen, but it sure hasn’t worked out for us. I’m 67 years old, and I will be going back to work.
I will be 65 in June and I need to have a cost estimate for enrolling in Secure Horizons which includes a drug plan. I currently have Pacific care health insurance with my employer that covers myself and my husband who is 70. Are you denied coverage for any health issues?
